Founder's Notes

Introduction

In 2019, on the heights of Montmartre in Paris, I made what might have been the biggest decision of my life—right before getting blackout drunk with my Belgian friend.

Founder

Yifei Yang, Founder of DreamWeaver

Back then, digital marketing in Europe was little more than a gentle breeze rustling through willow branches. Legacy brands like Dior were still locked in heated debates over whether to embrace e-commerce, while the few pioneers who dared to host virtual runway shows were utterly crucified.

At the time, he and his wife (then-girlfriend) had just started their influencer journey on Instagram with 50K followers. As we talked about the future of marketing, his conviction—amplified by liquid courage—inspired an idea: I'd return to China to build a business rooted in digital marketing's potential. "We sell, or else," as the old adage goes. We'd dismantle the ad agencies that only knew how to burn budgets (my employer at the time being a prime example). He, in turn, vowed to become a powerhouse KOL with his girlfriend—though I'm certain his resolve was shaky at best, given he'd drunk far less than I had.

Who could've predicted that six years later, those drunken proclamations would become our unwavering reality? Today, they boast 2 million followers across platforms. If you're into fashion, you've probably seen her—or rather, them—on Instagram: @marta__sierra.

I've always believed marketers must return to their fundamental purpose: driving measurable sales directly tied to content and strategy—not just buying traffic. In the pre-social media era, brands (whether via agencies or in-house teams) had no real way to attribute sales to marketing budgets, let alone determine if creative efforts outperformed mindless ad spend. Clear financial formulas mixed with murky market data turned marketing into a theater where anyone could claim, "My single ad made this brand #1 nationwide"—a laughable farce.

Two Non-Negotiables

01

No Conversion? Then It's Bullshit.

David Ogilvy's mantra, "We sell, or else," should've been every marketer's compass. But in the golden age of advertising, 99% of the industry drowned in 4A pretentiousness, too busy basking in elitist glory to remember their job was to sell. They'd drop millions on a flashy ad, a glossy KV, some media placements, and an award show circle-jerk—all while clients nodded along.

Then social media ripped off the industry's fig leaf. Suddenly, campaigns with seven-figure budgets yielded a few hundred likes. The ivory towers of 4A trembled. So did the clients.

Marketing has always been about farming:

01

Land (Market Selection): Hunt for fertile soil—use data to pinpoint audiences, not scatter seeds blindly.

02

Tilling (Demand Research): "Loosen the soil" with content marketing and A/B testing to cultivate trust.

03

Sowing (Seeding): Every KOL collab, livestream, or short video must carry conversion DNA—not just vanity metrics.

04

Harvesting (Conversion): Track every click from private traffic to e-commerce. Budgets must fuel sales, not ego.

Be a farmer. Dig in. Grow results.

02

If You Fear Data, You're a Fraud.

As mentioned, I despise how some in advertising imply their "genius" alone catapulted brands to success—while ignoring R&D, sales teams, and massive investments. It's an old con, like borrowing arrows with straw boats.

Real pros take ownership of sales. Period. Tmall, JD, Douyin—the numbers don't lie. Spending money isn't heroic. Making money is.

That's why our company's first department was e-commerce. My exact words:

"We'll never out-talk, out-PPT, or out-network the competition. So we chose the hardest path: letting results speak."

This era deserves gratitude. Without social media's instant feedback and traceability, we'd never see who's swimming naked. The internet gave us the spine to stop groveling.

Closing Thoughts

Success is fragile. What separates winners isn't some grand strategy—it's stubbornness and the raw will to make shit happen. Yet most "smart" people chase trends instead of grinding. You'll see their castles rise, their parties glitter… then boom—collapse. Our industry drowns in these tales daily. Why? Because strategizing behind floor-to-ceiling windows is sexier than doing the work.

Last year, that original couple finally married. I flew from Shanghai to their Spanish castle wedding and, predictably, got wasted again. Leaning in, I grinned: "So… ready for the next crazy goal?"

Our Work

Shared Value

Cost-Smart Operations

Make Every Budget Work Harder

Most operators are used to burning through client budgets to manufacture results. We understand the cost logic that governs premium brands: restraint, precision, and every dollar placed where it works hardest. Deep industry experience lets us cut wasteful spend without piling on cost, still driving brand-level growth, and protecting the client's bottom line.

Shared Value

Where Vision Meets Business

Art Can Create Commercial Value

Many believe pure artistic expression and commercial conversion are natural opposites. We collaborate deeply with China's leading artists and institutions, earning recognition within the art world itself. We can create elevated aesthetic work faithful to a creator's core — and let that aesthetic power feed back into commercial influence. Taste and commerce were never a trade-off.

Shared Value

Radical Ownership

Let the Work Go Beyond the Contract

A contract can only spell out the terms of responsibility — great delivery lives beyond what's written on paper. On long, complex projects we stay invested for the duration; whenever something serves the quality of the final work, even outside the contract's scope, we pursue it on our own initiative. We're not here to close a ticket — we're here to protect the client's final quality and the value of their investment.

SALES

WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT

Most agencies only handle store operations and media, outsourcing photography and video to third parties — brands end up coordinating multiple vendors, with long communication chains, unpredictable timelines, and inconsistent style.

One‑Stop In‑house Team

Once a sample reaches us, photography, design, video, store operations, paid media, and live‑streaming are all handled by one internal team. See our Narumi project: from a single sample, we produced every visual asset and went on to run the store and livestreams long‑term.

Multi‑platform Expertise

Fluent in five local channels — Tmall, JD, Xiaohongshu, Douyin, WeChat — and how each one actually works: Tmall/JD win on search and conversion, Douyin on content and live surges, Xiaohongshu on seeding mindshare, WeChat on private‑domain repurchase. We build a channel mix tailored to each brand.

International‑oriented Collaboration

Built around how overseas clients work — standardized reporting and clear ownership boundaries that cut cross‑timezone friction.

ROI‑Driven, Never Blind Spend

Every operation, every media dollar, every piece of content is aimed at one outcome: closed sales.
